Filming in Ashburton and Methven New Zealand

Spectacularly featured as 'middle earth' in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and the key setting for the 2001 Nokia Best Film Award winner Snakeskin, the Ashburton district is well used to assisting screen production.

This versatile region boasts chequerboard plains, rivers that carve deep gorges at the foot of stunning mountains and crystal clear high country lakes. Character filled country towns and villages with wide streets provide excellent architectural features.
