Film South New Zealand is a member of the AFCI -Association of Film Commissioners International - and markets the film locations and screen industry resources of Canterbury and the West Coast in New Zealand's South Island.

Film South enjoys a marketing alliance with Film Wellington view www.filmwellington.com and is also a member of the RFO (Regional Film Office) network in partnership with the national film office - Film New Zealand view www.filmnz.com

The board members of this Charitable Trust are a dedicated group of professionals representing economic development agencies, central government departments, tourism marketing agencies and film and television associations.

Our Aim

Film South is the primary information office, providing support and advice for screen production activity in the film friendly districts of Canterbury and the West Coast.

Our Staff

Our executive manager has spent more than 16 years in the film and television industry working with industry leaders Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films and advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. Our production advisor is a self confessed film buff and has a wealth of local and national industry contacts at her fingertips.
